Customer requirement
Cal Rovira was looking for a highly energy-efficient solution capable of simultaneously and autonomously managing the thermal demands of the drying system installed in the range of -5 to 90ºC, overcoming operational limitations and reducing operating costs.
Solution proposed by GasN2
Implementation of a subcritical cascade heat pump, with variable load sink.
Benefits of the solution
Simultaneous and independent production of heating and cooling
Autonomous thermal management for complete and efficient control of each phase of the process.
100% natural refrigerants
Use of environmentally friendly hydrocarbons, guaranteeing sustainable operation free of polluting gases.
Custom design and manufacturing
Personalized equipment that adapts to the company’s needs, processes, and available space.
Exempt from F-Gas restrictions, guaranteeing a secure investment free from future bans.
Commitment to the environment
Net Zero technology that drives industrial decarbonization by eliminating fossil fuel combustion.
Results
Domestic hot water (DHW) is produced at 80°C using a cascade circuit with a condensing capacity of 17.7 kW and natural refrigerants (GWP < 5). The COP in dual mode is 3.2.
Its use can be extended to industrial heating, DHW in processes with temperatures up to 80°C, and industrial cooling.
Electricity consumption is reduced compared to traditional separate heating and cooling solutions, thanks to the simultaneous use of both demands in a single high-efficiency heat pump.
The environmental profile of the installation is improved by using very low GWP refrigerants and eliminating direct combustion in the drying process.
