GasN2 participated in Expoquimia 2026, held from 2 to 5 June at Fira Barcelona – Gran Via, in a context in which the chemical and process industry continues to move towards more efficient, competitive and sustainable models.
During this edition, the trade fair once again acted as a meeting point for companies, engineering firms, technology partners and industry professionals interested in solutions capable of improving the real performance of industrial plants. Beyond the presentation of new developments, Expoquimia provided an opportunity to address some of the key drivers shaping the evolution of the industry today: energy efficiency, resource optimisation, emissions reduction and the need to integrate viable technologies into existing production processes.
In this context, GasN2 shared its vision of how applied industrial solutions can help companies move towards more efficient, controlled processes aligned with decarbonisation objectives.
A trade fair shaped by efficiency, decarbonisation and process optimisation
Energy efficiency as a strategic factor
The chemical industry and the process industry are undergoing a period of transformation. Pressure on energy costs, the need to reduce emissions and regulatory developments are leading many companies to review how they consume energy, how they manage their resources and which technologies can help improve their competitiveness.
In this context, efficiency can no longer be understood merely as a specific operational improvement. It is a strategic factor that directly affects process continuity, cost reduction, sustainability and the adaptability of industrial facilities.
Solutions adapted to real plant conditions
During Expoquimia 2026, GasN2 had the opportunity to hold conversations with customers, partners, engineering firms and industry professionals around these challenges. Current industry needs increasingly point towards solutions that not only incorporate advanced technology, but are also capable of adapting to the real conditions of each plant.
This approach is especially relevant in sectors where reliability, process control and energy efficiency have a direct impact on product quality, operational safety and the overall performance of the facility. This is the case, for example, in the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals sector or other production environments with specific control, safety and efficiency requirements.
From trend to real application: the value of integrated industrial solutions
One of the major challenges of industrial decarbonisation is moving from concept to real-world application. For a technology to generate impact, it is not enough for it to be innovative: it must be correctly integrated into the process, respond to the plant’s specific needs and deliver measurable results.
At Expoquimia 2026, GasN2 presented different solution lines designed precisely to meet this objective:
- On-site generation of industrial gases, to improve autonomy, supply control and efficiency in the use of nitrogen, oxygen or gas mixtures. This line is part of the chromatographic systems range and includes solutions such as N₂ generators.
- Industrial heat pumps and heat recovery, to make use of residual energy available in industrial processes and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
- CO₂ capture, treatment and reuse, as a way to transform emissions or available streams into usable resources within the process itself.
- Engineering applied to industrial processes, to analyse each case specifically and design solutions adapted to real operating conditions.
These lines follow the same logic: helping industry improve process performance without proposing generic solutions disconnected from production reality.
CO₂ capture, treatment and reuse
In many cases, the opportunity does not lie solely in incorporating a new technology, but in better understanding how the plant operates, where consumption is concentrated, which flows can be optimised and how greater operational stability can be achieved.
This vision is also consistent with other GasN2 lines of work around innovation and sustainability, where the goal is to develop industrial solutions with a real impact on efficiency, resources and emissions.
Decarbonising to compete: an increasingly present conversation in the chemical industry
Decarbonisation as a driver of competitiveness
Industrial decarbonisation has become one of the major areas of debate for the chemical sector. However, its value should not be approached only from an environmental or regulatory perspective. Increasingly, decarbonising also means competing more effectively.
Reducing consumption, making use of residual energy, optimising gas supply or reusing CO₂ can contribute to a more efficient, more autonomous industry that is less exposed to external variations. For this reason, decarbonisation is becoming a lever to strengthen the competitiveness and operational resilience of industrial plants.
Along these lines, GasN2 participated in the round table “Decarbonising to compete. Data and success stories in the chemical industry”, organised by ACCIÓ and ICAEN within the framework of Expoquimia. Jordi Pujol Parals, Chief R+D+i Officer at GasN2, shared the company’s vision of how new energy vectors and industrial solutions can help the Catalan chemical sector move towards a real, competitive and viable transition.
New energy vectors and a viable industrial transition
These types of spaces are key to connecting technical knowledge, industrial experience and market needs. Industrial transformation does not depend only on having technology available, but on knowing how to apply it with sound criteria and a clear understanding of the process.
This approach can also be seen in projects and applications linked to CO₂ recovery and reuse, such as the Reixach success story, where applied innovation enables progress towards more efficient and sustainable processes.
GasN2 technical session: real applications to connect technology and plant operations
In addition to its presence at the stand, GasN2 held its own technical session on 3 June at the Press Area Auditorium of Fira Barcelona – Gran Via.
Heat pumps, industrial gases and CO₂ solutions
The session was designed as a technical-commercial space to present real applications across three key areas:
- Industrial heat pumps.
- Gases for the chemical sector.
- CO₂ solutions.
The aim of the session was to bring these technologies closer to the specific needs of industry, opening up spaces to answer questions and share application criteria.
This approach is especially important in industrial projects, where each facility has specific conditions in terms of consumption, temperature, pressure, availability, safety, regulation and integration with other systems. For this reason, the value of a solution does not depend only on its technical features, but on its ability to fit into the overall process.
Technology creates value when it enables greater control, reduces dependencies, improves efficiency and facilitates more stable long-term operation. This criterion is especially relevant in applications such as inerting, bubbling or water treatment, where gas control and integration into the process are decisive factors.
What does Expoquimia 2026 leave us with?
Expoquimia 2026 has reinforced a clear idea: industry is not looking only for technology, but for applicable, adapted solutions with a real impact on processes.
Energy efficiency, emissions reduction and resource optimisation are already part of the strategic decisions of many industrial plants. But to turn these objectives into results, a technical approach is required: one capable of analysing each process, identifying improvement opportunities and designing viable solutions.
Real opportunities for industrial optimisation
In this scenario, GasN2 continues working to help the chemical and process industry move towards more efficient, competitive and sustainable models through industrial gas solutions, energy recovery, CO₂ capture and reuse and applied engineering.
If your plant is reviewing how to improve energy efficiency, reduce external dependencies or move towards more sustainable processes, the GasN2 team can help you identify real optimisation opportunities and define the most suitable solution for your process.
