In a world in which food safety and quality are undisputed priorities, innovation in preservation techniques is essential to ensure that products reach the final consumer in the best possible conditions. Advanced deep-freezing techniques play a crucial role in this goal, allowing the preservation of food at extremely low temperatures, which significantly reduces degradation and extends the shelf life of products.
At GasN2, we have developed a line of refrigeration products designed for various sectors, including food and chemical-pharmaceutical. This line combines the best aspects of mechanical cold and cryogenic cold for refrigeration and freezing applications. Based on refrigerant compression and expansion systems, our products do not require consumables and use environmentally friendly natural refrigerant gases, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) close to 0.
Importance of Deep Freezing in the Food Industry
Deep freezing is a food preservation method that has revolutionized the food industry thanks to its ability to preserve the quality, safety and nutritional value of products. This process consists of reducing the temperature of food much more quickly and powerfully than traditional freezing, reaching evaporation temperatures of up to -80ºC.
GasN2 deep-freezing plants
All our equipment is designed to work outdoors. The working power range is from 15 kW to 150 kW of cooling with an evaporation temperature of up to -80ºC.
There are different types of freezing tunnels, depending on whether the product is kept static or in motion:
- Static freezing tunnels: The product remains static inside a blast chamber during the freezing process.
- Dynamic freezing tunnels: The product moves along a belt where it enters the interior of the freezing tunnel.
Advantages of technology
- Lower environmental impact: The carbon footprint of gas manufacturing is reduced.
- Expense control: Continuous control of costs without unexpected price increases.
- The organoleptic properties (structures, color, smell, etc.) of the product are maintained after freezing.
- Improves process efficiency: Shorter freezing time and greater productive capacity.
- Elimination of tanker truck traffic: Reduction in associated CO2 emissions.
- Generation self-sufficiency: Dependency on an external supplier is eliminated.
Advantages of the solution
- High energy efficiency: High productivity with controlled and efficient consumption.
- More environmentally friendly natural refrigerants with a GWP close to 0.
- Reduced refrigerant charge: Minimum charge necessary in the cold center.
- Comprehensive alarm management: 4.0 technology for alarm management and control.
- Modular equipment: Modular configurations depending on the client’s needs.
- Leak detector and security systems: Leak detection systems.
- Comprehensive system operation control platform: 4.0 technology for operation management and control.
- Remote control: Control and manipulation of the equipment remotely.
- Data Traceability: All information about equipment performance is tracked and documented.
Deep freezing represents a significant innovation in food preservation, offering multiple benefits in terms of quality, safety and sustainability. Its implementation in the food industry not only improves the conservation of products, but also contributes to the reduction of food waste and environmental impact. The adoption of advanced deep-freezing technologies is therefore a key strategy for the sustainable development of the global food industry.
