At a time when sustainability and responsible management of natural resources are crucial, GasN2 has taken a step forward with an innovative project at the La Ballena Alegre campsite, located in Sant Pere Pescador (Girona), recognized as the most sustainable in Europe. Our “Hygrometric Precipitation” project focuses on capturing moisture from the air and converting it into usable water, helping to mitigate the growing water shortage while protecting the environment.

Capturing moisture from the air and transforming it into usable water

The system we have developed at GasN2 uses advanced hygrometric precipitation technology that allows us to capture and condense the moisture present in the air. This highly efficient process can generate up to 2,000 liters of water daily, which is directly used to replenish the pools at the La Ballena Alegre campsite. In this way, it compensates for natural evaporation, ensuring a constant supply without the need to resort to additional sources, thereby reducing the extraction of groundwater or potable water and lessening the impact on local resources.

An example of environmental commitment in the tourism sector

The implementation of this technology at La Ballena Alegre not only reinforces the campsite’s commitment to the environment but also sets a new standard for tourist facilities across Europe. This project is part of the “Ballena 2030 Model,” an ambitious initiative that goes beyond sustainability, seeking to regenerate the environment and promote collaboration with local businesses. Thus, it becomes a European benchmark in sustainable water management.

GasN2 technology reduces dependence on traditional water sources

In a global context of water scarcity, especially in coastal and tourist areas where consumption is high and resources are limited, initiatives like this are vital. GasN2 technology reduces the dependence on traditional water sources, preserving natural resources for future generations.

The innovative aspect of this project is its ability to convert a generally untapped resource, such as air moisture, into useful water in a sustainable and efficient way. It not only helps La Ballena Alegre maintain its facilities in an eco-friendly manner, but it also offers a replicable model for other areas with similar climatic conditions.

The collaboration between GasN2 and La Ballena Alegre is an inspiring example of how technology and environmental awareness can come together to create solutions that benefit both businesses and the planet. At a time when the tourism industry is striving to reduce its ecological impact, this project demonstrates that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand to build a more sustainable future.
