The Taulí Hospital in Sabadell, managed by the Parc Taulí Health Corporation Consortium, has taken a significant step in enhancing its healthcare services, with a special focus on environmental sustainability. Thanks to an innovative project promoted by the Catalan Health Service, the hospital has implemented a new on-site medical oxygen generation system designed to ensure a self-sufficient supply in the Albada and VII Centenari buildings.

With over 700 beds and a surface area exceeding 100,000 m², Parc Taulí has established itself as a pioneer in seeking solutions that improve both patient care and operational sustainability. The new system, manufactured and installed by the Catalan company GasN2, eliminates the dependence on traditional liquid oxygen supply via road transport, providing complete logistical autonomy to the hospital.

An innovative and efficient solution

GasN2 has implemented a medical oxygen generation system for the Albada and VII Centenari buildings using three GO TOP LINE HEALTH 54 D1000 generators. Each generator can produce 22.4 Nm³/h of high-concentration oxygen, meeting the stringent requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia.

The separation technology used, based on pressure swing adsorption and chromatography, allows continuous oxygen generation 24/7, adapting to the hospital’s needs without interruption. This ensures not only a constant and high-quality supply but also complete traceability of the generated gas, ensuring rigorous control over its concentration and safety.

Environmental and healthcare benefits

The transition to a self-sufficient oxygen generation system optimizes the internal functioning of Taulí Hospital and reduces its carbon footprint by eliminating emissions associated with liquid oxygen transport. Additionally, it enhances the hospital’s resilience, enabling it to operate independently of external suppliers, resulting in greater autonomy and reliability in its supply.

Oxygen is a vital resource for treating chronic respiratory diseases, heart failure, and other debilitating conditions, especially in elderly patients, making this improvement even more significant for healthcare.

GasN2: Innovation and international expansion

GasN2 has established itself as a leading company in the production and supply of industrial gases, standing out for its commitment to sustainable and technologically advanced solutions. The project with Taulí Hospital is an example of the innovative approach that characterizes the company, which continues to develop technologies that meet healthcare needs while promoting environmental protection.

In recent years, GasN2 has experienced significant international growth. Its ability to provide tailored solutions to the specific needs of different sectors has allowed it to expand into markets outside of Spain. This growth has been driven by its commitment to sustainability and efficiency, values increasingly demanded in the industrial gas industry.

GasN2’s expertise and technological leadership in projects like that of Taulí Hospital reinforce its position as a key player in the global market. With a solid infrastructure and a vision centered on innovation, the company continues to strengthen its international presence, collaborating with hospitals, companies, and industrial sectors in implementing advanced gas generation systems.
