ABF has established itself in the Italian retail industry over the years, becoming a recognized and internationally recognized brand.

Reliability, quality, and convenience are the three main characteristics that distinguish it in this highly competitive sector. Its commitment to a job well done is recognized by multiple quality certifications and long-standing collaborations with important partners nationwide.

Under the leadership of Aurelio Fontani, ABF Srl is a constantly expanding company, marketing its meat products throughout Italy and Europe.

Italian heifers and calves represent the majority of the beef processed by the company, but the pork sector, strictly of Italian and Tuscan origin, also occupies an important position within the company. ABF is also authorized to process the prestigious Chianina breed.

Route control and traceability are a necessity for us; ABF actively collaborates with its partners to ensure maximum precision in its work and build a growing relationship of mutual trust.

The Challenge

ABF met its oxygen needs with pressurized oxygen cylinders, using more than 19 units per month for its meat packaging production process.

The use of this resource resulted in several troubling problems: not only the constant unloading of cylinders and operational movements, but also very high oxygen costs, which made it a very expensive resource.

Furthermore, the constant cylinder changes caused prolonged downtime in its production process, resulting in a decrease in efficiency.

ABF’s goal was to invest in innovative and sustainable technology to improve its operating costs and reduce the environmental impact associated with the use of pressurized oxygen cylinders.

Results

The solution implemented by GasN2 has had a significant impact on ABF Comercio Carni‘s operations, with notable results:

  • Reduced costs associated with the consumption of this gas by 25%, optimizing profitability and positively impacting production operating costs.
  • Eliminating the area dedicated to cylinder storage simplified warehouse management, generating a more streamlined workflow.
  • ABF was able to drastically reduce production downtime and thus achieve a much more efficient production process.
  • Eliminating any need for cylinder transport completely eliminated any problems related to bottle movement, drastically reducing the environmental impact associated with road transport.

The implementation of the GasN2 oxygen generation system at ABF has represented a significant advance in terms of operational efficiency and sustainability. Thanks to this solution, the company has managed to reduce costs, minimize its environmental impact, and optimize its packaging process, ensuring the highest quality and freshness of its products.

The elimination of gas cylinder transport has led to a considerable reduction in its carbon footprint, while the autonomy in gas production has improved internal logistics and reduced dependence on external suppliers.

This success story demonstrates how technological innovation can transform industrial processes, providing sustainable and cost-effective solutions that significantly improve the quality of the final product. ABF thus reaffirms its commitment to excellence, energy efficiency, and reducing environmental impact, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the food industry.
