The Challenge

Càrniques Illas Juli used an ultra-freezing system based on liquid nitrogen (N₂), combined with a freezing tunnel. This system required a constant nitrogen supply, leading to:

  • Complex logistics management, with monthly gas deliveries.
  • Personnel dedicated to organizing and supervising supplies.
  • Significant environmental impact due to liquid nitrogen transport by tankers, generating high CO₂ emissions.

Faced with this situation, Càrniques Illas Juli opted for an innovative, sustainable, and environmentally friendly solution, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint and improve ultra-freezing system efficiency.

The Solution: Deep-Freezing System at a very low temperature

GasN2 proposed installing an ultra-freezing system at low temperatures, based on mechanical cooling without consumables. The system, provided under a rental model, consists of:

CT150 refrigeration unit, installed outside the plant.
Dynamic tunnel (12 x 2.5 meters) with the capacity to freeze up to 1,200 kg/h of different products, doubling previous production capacity.

Results
