The Challenge: Reusing CO₂ to Reduce Emissions

In its daily operations, Reixach uses natural gas boilers that generate combustion gases with a high content of carbon dioxide (CO₂). If untreated, this gas is released directly into the atmosphere, contributing to environmental impact and wasting a resource that could be reused within the same production system.

With the goal of reducing emissions and improving environmental efficiency, Reixach sought a technological solution that would allow it to capture and reuse this CO₂ in its own industrial process.

The Solution: CO₂ Capture and Reuse

To address this challenge, Reixach partnered with GasN2 to implement an advanced technology for capturing and concentrating CO₂ from combustion gases. The system is based on a three-phase process:

  • Pretreatment, separation and purification of CO₂ using adsorption and desorption techniques.
  • Compression of the recovered gas to prepare it for safe reuse or storage.
  • Internal reuse of the CO₂ by reintegrating it into the production process to maximize efficiency.
